Long day off the beaten track. Fabulous scenery in the spring sunshine. Lambs and calves everywhere. Challenging terrain in places which is sad because the Waikato River Trail is very attractive. Ended up in Mangakino, a village built to support dam builders originally. Not luxurious. 58 miles and 3210 ft ascent.
