Cloudy Bay cellar door
Villa Maria cellar door

27-28.10.13. The ride south to Blenheim was a test of reflexes with random gusts blasting at us from all directions but the upside was beautiful sunshine, a flat road between pine-clad hillsides and the constant scent of may blossom. A few technical problems (mainly an epidemic of punctures) in Blenheim didn't seriously alter the programme. We visited the aviation museum which was good. Then to the more important business of the Marlborough wineries. We did Wither Hills, Villa Maria, Cloudy Bay and Forrest. We are now wine-tasted out! Perhaps timely as we start to leave civilisation and head for the backs of beyond.
Road from Picton
Wither Hills cellar door
Coincidence???
Which of the partners is this .....

Not surprised to find Forrest is not the most lavish cellar door

  1. Your trip looks amazing. So green! Your bikes look really heavy with their panniers so going up hills must be making you both amazingly fit by now. With all your wine tasting I think you should run a Kiwi wine tasting session for the Coventry Medical Society! It seems like you are not going to be hiring a car after all.....
    We await your next blog.
