Despite gale force winds the crossing to South Island was remarkably smooth. Queen Charlotte's Sound was a magnificent introduction although it was a challenge to even stand up on the deck. Spent the first night in Picton - didn't fancy cycling at night - following the delayed crossing. We like Picton. Tried the famous green lip mussels which were good.
